On Friday night, police officers discovered the body of a 62-year-old woman who had been shot in the head, with her hands bound behind her back, inside a Brooklyn public housing development. On Sunday afternoon, police found the body of her fifth-floor neighbor, a 54-year-old man, with gunshot wounds to his torso. NYPD Deputy Chief Michael Kemper said, "There's a strong possibility that he died on the same date and [at the] same approximate time as his neighbor."

Ana Devalle was found in her apartment on the fifth floor of the Bushwick Houses at 6:47 p.m. on May 11th, killed in an execution-style murder with "several" gunshot wounds to the head.

Gary Basil's family called police on Sunday because they hadn't heard from him since Thursday. When police entered Basil's apartment, they found his body. The Daily News reports, "Detectives think Gray may have gone to check on Delvalle after hearing a commotion and come upon her killer, police sources said."

After Devalle's body was found, a neighbor told the Post, "How can someone sleep at night knowing that there’s a maniac like that on the loose? I might stay at my mom’s tonight."

Police are now checking in on every resident of the building.
