Your low hanging pants remain safe from government interference! A few years back, after a judge ruled it was not illegal to wear your pants low, Mayor Bloomberg came out to say "I don't think the government should be in the business of telling people what they should wear." Today on his weekly radio show hizzoner reiterated his semi-supportive stance on sub-groin slacks. Even nanny states have to draw the line somewhere!

"I will say in my generation and [radio host John Gambling]'s generation, we did not wear our pants hanging down," Bloomberg said. "It's a fine balance. People should be allowed to dress the way they want. On the other hand there are decency standards, people aren't allowed to walk around naked." Indeed, you can't walk around totally naked. But ladies? You are absolutely allowed to go topless if you'd like.

Still, the best part of the segment is when Bloomberg warned the parent who'd called to complain about sagging pants on a public bus that he should just wait until his own kids get older. "Someday your daughter could come home with green hair like one of mine did," the mayor said. So, who is going to be the first person to find a photo of Emma or Georgina Bloomberg with green hair?
