The brutal murder of Huang Chen, 18, who was killed when delivering food for his parents' Chinese restaurant, seems to have been motivated by Air Jordan sneakers. Nayquan Miller and Charles Bryant, both 16, with other suspects, ordered $10 of food, then robbed Chen of $49 then beat and murdered him, even after Chen pleaded for his life. Miller and Bryant were charged as adults with second-degree murder, robbery, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon. Air Jordans cost about $150. City Councilman John Liu told the Post, "I think certainly there is some profiling going on here by these animals who see these immigrant workers as easy targets."
