A 23-year-old woman is in critical condition at Kings County hospital today after being struck by an MTA bus at a busy Bushwick intersection last night. According to the NYPD press office, the unidentified pedestrian was crossing Myrtle Avenue from south to north shortly before 11 p.m. when she was hit by a bus turning east onto Myrtle from Palmetto Street. (This three-way intersection, where Myrtle, Wyckoff, and Palmetto cross, has a reputation for being dangerous and heavily trafficked by buses.)

The victim was rushed to Wyckoff hospital in traumatic arrest. She's currently in critical condition. The bus driver stayed on the scene and was not charged; an NYPD spokesperson tells us there "does not appear to be any criminality but the investigation is ongoing." According to the MTA, the woman was struck "by the right front side of a B52 bus. She was taken to Wyckoff Hospital then moved to Kings County Hospital where she remains in critical condition."

We'll update as more information about her condition becomes available.
