An MTA bus driver was arrested in Bensonhurst this morning for allegedly choking a passenger during a dispute over the passenger's dog.
According to police, the passenger boarded the bus at Bath Avenue and Bay Parkway along with his small dog around 11 a.m. The driver, identified as 49-year-old Toussaint Cummings, took issue with the presence of the dog, and the two began to argue, with the tussle eventually culminating in Cummings grabbing the victim and choking him.
Cummings worked for the MTA since 1999, but has been removed pending investigation. He has been charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and unlawful imprisonment.
