New MTA Chairman Jay Walder was given a true New York welcome at his first transit authority board meeting today, when he and fellow board members were referred to as "a bunch of doody-heads" by a frustrated union leader.

According to the Daily News, Andreeva Pinder, an official with Transport Workers Local 100, was complaining about staff cuts at subway stations and the lack of contracts when he said, "I think you people are so detached from reality because you don't use the system...You guys are just a bunch of doody-heads."

The budget cuts being argued at the meeting were approved before Walder became chairman, for what it's worth. Walder should take some comfort that he's not from "Silly-delphia".
