A 24-year-old woman was shot and injured yesterday while attempting to pick her daughter up from a day care center in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Authorities say she was caught in the crossfire during an attempted robbery at a bodega across the street.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday at Throop Avenue and Quincy Street. Two men were reportedly trying to rob a bodega in the area and a 19-year-old employee was shot in the chest; when the alleged robbers ran out of the store, witnesses say the employee started firing a gun at them onto the street, and the 24-year-old woman was shot in the leg.

Both the bodega employee and female victim were treated at Kings County Hospital and are expected to survive.
