A 24-year-old woman was killed this morning two blocks from the Pratt Campus in Clinton Hill. The NYPD says that after receiving a 911 call shortly before 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the courtyard of 470 Dekalb Avenue and discovered the woman with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was pronounced DOA at Brooklyn hospital. No arrests were made.
One witness, Robert Page, tells DNAinfo the victim was "caught in a hail of bullets coming from two groups, one shooting from the DeKalb Avenue side of the courtyard, and the other shooting from the Franklin Avenue side." The victim's aunt, Gayle Thomas, identified her niece as Nicholiea Taylor, a nurse and mother of two who worked with disabled children.
