Frederique Rowe, whose one-year-old child was killed by the driver of a pickup truck on Thursday night while Rowe pushed her in a stroller across the street, has started a GoFundMe to raise money for the child's funeral expenses.

The crowdfunding effort, which seeks to raise $8,500, was started yesterday because per Rowe's words, "I need the help of everyone right now to rest my daughter." The GoFundMe has raised $6,924 so far.

Rowe's daughter, Skylar Perkins, was killed by the driver of a pickup truck as he turned from 94th Street onto 23rd Avenue in Elmhurst, Queens. Rowe and Perkins were crossing the street with a green light, according to initial reports. The driver, Wallace Ramirez, was arrested on the scene and charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care under the Right of Way law.

"I did two tours in Iraq and I've seen some messed up stuff and this was one of the most messed up things I've ever seen," witness Reese Fluellen told DNAinfo on Thursday night.

Rowe, remembered her daughter as "giggly" and "playful," when talking to the News on Friday. Speaking of Ramirez, she said "I don't have any words for him. We had the right of way."
