The skeletal remains of a 61-year-old Borough Park woman were found in her daughter's apartment last night. Authorities estimate the woman could have been dead for as long as a year.

The body of Susie Rosenthal, 61, was found at around 5 p.m. on Monday, after cops say they received a report of a foul odor inside an apartment located at 15th Ave near 47th Street. According to police, when they arrived at the apartment they found it was in a state of disarray and filled with trash. They also encountered Rosenthal's 28-year-old daughter Chava Stirn, who threatened to harm herself and was transported to Maimonides Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation, according to cops.

After scouring the apartment further, cops then found Rosenthal's rotting remains under a pile of garbage bags. Though authorities are still investigating Rosenthal's cause of death, they say she could have been dead for up to a year.

No arrests have been made as of this morning. Sources told reporters that both Stirn and Rosenthal suffered from psychological problems.
