A Manhattan talent agent who had been missing for over a week was found dead in the woods near his New Jersey home yesterday, according to police.
Mark Schlegel, 57, was last seen leaving his home in Oradell on August 13th, shortly after returning from a trip overseas with his wife, Chris Schlegel. Schlegel reportedly left home without his keys, phone, or wallet, but neighbors told his wife they spotted him holding a gift bag, walking "with a purpose."
Yesterday, cops with the Oradell Police Department canvassed the area with K-9 dogs, helicopters and drones, eventually finding his decomposed body in a wooded area not far from his home.
News of Schlegel's death prompted condolences from friends and clients—Schelgel worked for Cornerstone Agency, which counts Marcia Gay Harden, Broadway actor Rory O'Malley, and Viola Davis among its clients.
RIP Mark Schlegel. Thank you for seeing my talent. God bless your family❤❤❤ https://t.co/SKBBiYo46s

A law enforcement source told NorthJersey.com that no foul play is suspected, though the Bergen County Medical Examiner's office has yet to determine Schlegel's cause of death.
