The body of a Mount Vernon woman who was missing for a week was found in a Bronx park last night, according to police. Family members of the victim are claiming her boyfriend has already confessed to killing her.
Ashley McDuffie, 27, was reported missing by her family on August 19, according to the Daily News. Last night, police found her body in Seton Falls Park near East 223rd Street in the Bronx, and McDuffie's father told the paper that her boyfriend had already turned himself in for her murder.
The Post reports that McDuffie was pregnant at the time of her murder, and that her boyfriend told police that he killed her because he wanted to get back together with his wife.
When reached for comment, a Mount Vernon Police spokeswoman said that the situation was "an ongoing investigation and we don't have any information at this time."
