Police recovered the body of a man identified in reports as a missing Manhattan college student from the Harlem River on Monday evening.

An NYPD spokesman said that officers found a missing 22-year-old's body floating in the water off of the Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse, near Sherman Creek Park, at 6:09 p.m.

The Daily News and Post identified the man as Jamie Morban, missing since the previous Monday, when he was last seen at City College.

Morban was a student there, and never made it to his evening literature class that day, his father told the News.

The dad, also named Jamie, told the tabloid that his son was an introvert, aspiring writer, and video game fan who spent most of his time at home. Morban lived in Inwood.

Medical Examiner's Office personnel will try to determine the cause of death.

Update 12:50 p.m.:

City College student government sent out the following notice regarding Morban's death:

There will be a vigil at the College's North Academic Center Plaza at 6 p.m. this evening.

The student government is also organizing a scholarship in Morban's honor.
