All morning long it looked like we would get a 90-degree day today. It is still possible but clouds are putting a damper on the heating. It will be close but it looks like today's high may only reach the upper 80s. A weak warm front will pass through the city tonight, bringing a slight chance of rain overnight and setting the city up for a steamy Thursday. Tonight's low will only dip to 78 or so.

Look for highs near 95 tomorrow. That's approaching the record of 96 set in 1888. There will also be a good chance of showers or thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. A cold front will arrive tomorrow evening. It won't immediately end the heat but the front will clear out a lot of the humidity. Friday's high is expected to be in the upper 80s under sunny skies.

Cooler weather will make a brief appearance on Saturday. Look for a high in the mid 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. Sunday's forecast is tricky. It appears that a cold front is going to stall over the region on Saturday night. That will set the stage for a hot and humid Sunday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
