After a week of trash talking, the underperforming Jets and Giants are gearing up for Saturday's thoroughly mediocre "battle of NYC." Both teams still have a chance to make the playoffs, but the loser of tomorrow's game may be done for the season. We're just relieved one NY team can win this week, after last week's twin slaughters. And while Mayor Bloomberg tried his best to stay out of the inter-city rivalry, NJ Gov. Chris Christie made no secret of who he is rooting for: “J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets. Absolutely. Rex and the boys win by seven.”

Christie made the pronouncement on SiriusXM’s “Mad Dog Radio” channel this morning: “The Jets are going to step up,” the GOP governor said. “The Jets have been the more consistent team this year. The Jets are going to win.” During his weekly radio appearance on the decidedly-less "mad" WOR John Gambling Show, Bloomberg refused to say who he was rooting for. But he did say where he'd be sitting: "It's the home game for the Jets so I'll sit on the Jets side," he said.

So for all intents and purposes, both major political figures will be on the Jets side, metaphorically and literally. We kind of feel bad for the Giants—but then again, it seems like the Jets are hungrier for it right now. After all, they're the ones who are using a bloody photo of Eli Manning as inspiration, while the Giants are...commending Rex Ryan?
