The Post's Braden Keil reveals that Madonna has been scoping out townhouses on the Upper East Side. With three children and probably many helpers, the Madonna has probably grown out of her 6,000 square foot duplex at 41 Central Park West's Harperley Hall.
A source says she's targeting townhouses so she doesn't have to deal with co-op boards. She saw a 14,700 square foot East 62nd Street that has "grand entertaining rooms with double-height ceilings, and marble floors, staircases and fireplaces" and costs $35 million, plus a 20,000 square foot house in Carnegie Hil (price tag: $15 million) as well as other homes between Fifth and Madison Avenues.
Madonna's presence in Harperley Hall (her duplex has a hair salon and gym) supposedly helped boost prices in the building by 25%. We can't imagine that her presence would influence UES prices any more, but we do think there will be a run on places for the paparazzi to hang out - CPW sidewalks are pretty roomy.
The Post points out the the NYC Kabbalah Center is on East 48th between Lexington and Third, and we'd like to point out that the British Consulate is just up the street on Third Avenue and 51st, if she ever wants to work on her accent. And Madonna first lived in the East Village, and there are some walking tours that go by the apartment building.
As for what Madonna's doing now, you can see her new "designs" for H&M here.
