We always imagined that being married to a five-octave range diva must be difficult—sadly, Beyonce has yet to answer our love letters, so we don't yet know from experience. But could it really be such a cold and loveless life that one might seek the comfort and affection of total strangers en masse? For Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey's husband, the answer is yes. Yes it could be.

Cannon, the Drumline star-slash-forgotten rapper, will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most hugs in one hour tonight at Citifield. The current record stands at 1,749, but Cannon is aiming to get 1,800 Mets fans to throw their arms around him. Cannon, the host of 92.3 NOW’s "The Nick Cannon Rolling Morning Show," seems pretty confident that he can break the record: "I am going to make HISTORY," he wrote on his website. Of course, Cannon is assuming that 1,800 people will definitely turn up for tonight's Mets-Brewers game.

If you want to participate in this HISTORIC moment in the lives of kept men, just show up at Citifield at 4:30 p.m. on Mets Plaza next to the Mets Home Run Apple at Citi Field. So on top of everything, you have to suffer the indignity of showing up early to a Mets game. However, the first 100 huggers will get free tickets to the game, and everyone else willing to let Mariah Carey's man manhandle them will get a commemorative Nick Cannon Mets T-shirt. We assume that Cannon will also be giving out copies of his unreleased album Stages to anyone whose pockets he can shove it into.
