Last night, Governor Andrew Cuomo soundly defeated Cynthia Nixon in the state primary. Across the state, 23% of registered Democrats turned up at the polls, more than double the turnout of the 2014 primary, when only 10% of registered Democrats voted. In New York City, Cuomo earned 65% of the vote to Nixon's 34%.

While Nixon did well in parts of the city like North Brooklyn, those votes were not nearly enough to oust the incumbent governor. Gothamist mapped the winning gubernatorial candidate for each precinct in the city. Nixon’s wins are displayed in orange, and Cuomo’s in purple. (These are still technically preliminary results, as the election has not yet been certified.)

Manhattan saw Nixon's best showing—she got 41% of the vote to Cuomo's 58%.
