When the MTA first shutdown mass transit in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Sandy almost two weeks ago, no one expected that it would take until yesterday to get them all back up and running. Along the way, the MTA was excellent about updating their website with clear maps delineating which lines were running as they became available. Transportation Nation talked to the man behind the maps, Chuck Gordanier, about what that process was like. Below, check out a .gif showing the return of the subway.
