A man believed to be carrying a machete and a cane is on the run in midtown Manhattan, after allegedly stealing juice from a nearby Starbucks.
According to the NYPD, the perp lifted several pre-made items from the coffee chain's 42nd Street and 8th Avenue location, as he threatened employees at knifepoint. He was last seen at around 11:45 a.m., headed west and using a cane.
Police said the suspect is a man in his 50s, who is wearing a white t-shirt, black sweatpants and a black backpack A spokesperson for the department could not immediately say what sort of knife was used in the robbery. Other sources that pull from police scanners are reporting that it was a machete.

Police said there were no injuries as a result of the stick-up. An employee who answered the phone at the Times Square Starbucks declined to comment.
Earlier this summer, a machete-wielding man attacked a deli worker on 48th Street near 9th Avenue. The suspect dropped his weapon and fled, and has not been caught.
