Remember how a 22-year-old man somehow survived a 39-story fall from a West Side building—after falling into a Dodge Charger parked on the street— in August? Well, he's up and walking around—the Daily News spotted him at his parents' Staten Island home, and Thomas Magill said, "I'm doing good."
Responders found Magill looking like a "pretzel" in the back of a Dodge Charger. His body smashed through the car's back window, it's believed he may have fell at a rate of 126 mph from apartment building 75 West End Avenue, and a witness said, "That's a miracle if I've ever seen one. He should be a goner. It was like that movie 'Unbreakable.' That was this guy: unbreakable." And investigators think Magill had attempted suicide from a 39th floor apartment in the building.
According to the News, "Magill shattered much of his lower body when he crashed through the back window of the sports car. He was initially listed in critical condition at St. Luke's Hospital. During a series of surgeries, doctors inserted rods in his legs, rebuilt an ankle and stopped massive internal bleeding." A neighbor said, "I asked his mom how Thomas was doing and she told me he was making a full recovery, that he would be fine.
