A man was assaulted in Central Park last night by a pair of muggers. Police say that the victim was taking a telephone call near the 79th Street Transverse Road and East Drive at around 6:15 p.m. when a man approached him and punched him in the face. Another man shoved the victim to the ground and took his iPhone 4S before fleeing east.
The victim's injuries were minor, and he refused medical attention. A witness told police that minutes before the assault, the two suspects were sitting with a group of men on a bench near the spot where the attack occurred. No arrests have been made.
