A man standing in the drive-thru lane at a Queens McDonald's was struck by a hit-and-run driver early this morning. According to cops, the incident happened just after 4 a.m. at the McDonald's on Merrick Boulevard in Laurelton. The victim, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition.
"The guy, I think he was drunk, was in the drive-thru leaning on a car randomly," the night manager of the McDonald's, 18-year-old Jonathan Brown, told the News. "Then he fell and I thought he was dead so I called the cops. Thirty seconds later a car came and just hit him. Then the car backed up and drove around him and picked up his food."
According to the Post, a 911 caller said he didn't believe the driver saw the victim in the roadway and unintentionally struck him. No arrests have been made, and police add the investigation is ongoing.
