An unidentified man was stabbed on the Upper West Side this afternoon. Details are still emerging, but according to an FDNY spokesperson, the incident happened just before 2 p.m. at the corner of West 95th Street & West End Avenue. They say the victim has been transported to St. Luke's Hospital; he is said to be in serious condition.

According to early reports, a suspect was taken into custody at the scene, but the NYPD press office could not confirm that yet. We'll update once more information is released.

The stabbing happened in the vicinity of the dangerous intersection where multiple people have been fatally struck by cars this year.
