A man was stabbed by another man aboard the subway in The Bronx today. According to the NYPD, the incident happened just before 2 p.m. on a southbound 2 train as it pulled into the E. 149th Street station. A 25-year-old man was slashed in the chest by another man during a dispute.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital in serious condition, but he is expected to survive. The perp fled the scene and his location is unknown; cops say the investigation is ongoing. The MTA adds that service is back to normal on 2 and 5 trains as of 2:45 p.m.

Update: According to CBS, the victim was a candy vendor who was selling items on the train.
