A Buffalo man was stabbed in the chest with a pair of scissors in SoHo this morning just after 11 a.m.

According to police, the 60-year-old victim was stabbed by a 49-year-old homeless man, identified as Richard Pearson, outside of 590 Broadway at 11:10 a.m. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive. DNAinfo reports that the victim was working as a street vendor selling cellphone accessories outside Ricky's NYC.

Pearson, who was arrested at 11:36 a.m., has been charged with attempted murder, assault and menacing. The scissors were recovered at the scene. It's not immediately clear whether the two men knew each other.
