A man was slashed in the neck by a stranger in front of a Duane Reade near Times Square early this morning.
Police say the incident happened around 2:25 a.m. at the corner of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, where the 36-year-old male victim was approached by two suspects with whom he got into a verbal altercation. (The News claims the argument began inside the store, though the police could only confirm the slashing occurred outside of the store.) One of the men slashed the victim in the neck, and then fled the area.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Cops say no arrests have been made, they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses, and the investigation is ongoing.
