A man was wounded after being shot inside a Manhattan diner earlier this morning. Update below: Now there's surveillance video of the suspect, who pays for his meal and then apparently runs back to shoot the victim.

The shooting took place at the City Diner, a popular 24-hour restaurant on Broadway at the corner of West 90th Street, at around 3:45 a.m. According to WABC 7, "Police say that a man and woman were sitting in a booth having a late night snack when the suspect came in and ordered a meal. The suspect then went over and exchanged some words with the man and woman sitting in the booth and waked away to pay for his meal. Moments later the suspect whipped out a gun and shot the victim who was eating in that booth."

A diner employee told WCBS 2, "The guy fell on the table, we thought he was dead."

The 24-year-old victim apparently suffered a graze wound to the head and later took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital. Investigators believe the victim and shooter, who fled the diner, know each other.

A surveillance video reportedly shows the shooting.

After entering the location the suspect ordered food, briefly spoke with the 24-year-old male victim who was seated in the diner, and then left. Upon returning to the diner the suspect paid for the food he had ordered, and then approached the victim. The suspect fired one time striking the victim in the head, and the suspect then fled on foot.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital via private means with a graze wound to the head, and remains there in stable condition. There were no other injuries incurred as a result of the incident and no arrest effected at this time. The incident is under investigation.
