Police are on the hunt for a gray Mercedes in the wake of a drive-by shooting outside of an upscale Chelsea eatery. A 27-year-old man was shot in his back and shoulder just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday, as he sat inside of his red Bentley. His suspected attackers sped away and are still at large.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the shooting took place on 7th Avenue near West 17th Street, just outside the restaurant Cafeteria. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, and is expected to survive.

“I was in bed, but I heard what sounded like five shots,” nearby resident Hal, 71, told the Daily News. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting and an investigation is currently ongoing.
