A man has been fatally struck by a train at a downtown Manhattan subway station.
Police confirmed that the incident occurred at 1:08 p.m. and that the victim was DOA.
The MTA's website says:
Due to police investigation of a customer injury at Broadway- Lafayette:
In both directions B and D train service bypass Broadway- Lafayette.
Some northbound C train service running exp from Canal St to 59 St- Columbus Circle.
Northbound F via A from Jay St- MetroTech to W 4 St- Washington Sq.
Southbound F train service bypassing Broadway- Lafayette.
There is no M service between Essex St and Forest Hills- 71 Av in both directions.
Allow additional travel time.

Update: Jean-Paul Tremblay writes that he was on the F train that struck the man, "A police officer was taking a statement from the older woman who had been sitting on the bench. 'He just jumped between the two cars as it pulled in, I was watching him, and he just jumped between them.'"
