A man was killed by a hit and run driver in Flatbush on Friday night. According to an NYPD release, 47-year-old Vernon Bramble was struck while crossing Flatbush Avenue at East 34th Street at around 10:30 p.m. Police say that the "unknown black vehicle" was traveling south on Flatbush when it hit Bramble, a resident of Crown Heights.
“They left him there like he was an animal,” Bramble's niece told the Daily News. "He was a very simple person who tried his best to be there for his friends and family.”
An NYPD spokesman said there have been no updates in the case.
The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating the death of Christopher Meyer, a cyclist who police believe was killed in a possible hit and run incident in Williamsburg last Monday.
