A 24-year-old man was fatally struck by a driver last night loading his disabled motorcycle into a truck on a Queens road, according to authorities. Several other individuals who were assisting him were also struck and hospitalized.
According to the NYPD, cops found the unidentified victim at around 8:26 p.m. last night on Rockaway Boulevard near Brookville Boulevard. He had suffered severe blunt force trauma to his body, and was unconscious and unresponsive when cops arrived; EMS workers pronounced him dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the victim had been riding his motorcycle on Rockaway Boulevard when it became disabled. Cops say he and several others tried to load the motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck when they were struck by the driver of a Chevy van that was traveling eastbound on Rockaway Boulevard; that van was then struck by the driver of a second vehicle.
Five people, including the van's driver, were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where they are listed in stable condition. The NYPD is still investigating the incident.
