A man jumped to his death on Saturday morning from a luxury high rise building in Midtown. Police say that the 32-year-old man, whose name hasn't been released, leapt from a 33rd-floor balcony of the Ritz Plaza on W. 48th Street near Eighth Avenue around 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

The man, who did not live in the building, fell onto a fourth-floor landing, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The News and the Post are both reporting that the man was part of an "open relationship gone awry," and had been in an argument with two men before jumping. "It was a man yelling and a guy was holding him back," a teenage girl who witnessed the fall from her balcony two floors above told the Post. "All I heard was yelling, and then he went down and we heard a 'Boom!' The guy [on the balcony] was screaming, 'Help!'"

Yi Liu, 24, who moved to the building two days ago, also witnessed the fall: "I saw him go down — it was awful. I was shocked. My heart was beating so fast."
