The man who was hit and killed by an F train on Saturday afternoon was subway surfing, authorities said.

Police have not yet identified the man, who was struck by the train yesterday around 3:15 p.m. between the 14th Street and West 4th Street stations. According to police, the man was decapitated.

One of the passengers on the train tweeted that after the man was struck, the train was held "a foot" from the station with "power cut, no ventilation" but passengers were told that the train was delayed due to train traffic. Julia B., another passenger on the train, told Gothamist that the train was held for about 90 minutes before the passengers were evacuated at West 4th Street.

In October, another man was fatally struck by a Coney-Island bound F train after he reportedly attempted to climb on top of it.
