The body of a 40-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds in a Brooklyn elevator early this morning, and now police are looking for the shooter.

According to police, officers rushed to a building at 100 East 93rd Street in Brownsville at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday morning after receiving a 911 call about a shooting.

Inside the building's second floor, officers found the unidentified victim lying in an elevator, with shots to his chest, left arm, and left leg. Emergency workers rushed the man to Kings County Hospital, but he could not be saved.

No arrests have been made in connection to the deadly shooting and an NYPD spokesperson confirmed that police do not yet have a description of the suspect. An investigation is ongoing.
