A man was fatally struck by a train at the Lexington Avenue/East 59th Street station on Friday. According to police, the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. on Friday. A 46-year-old hispanic male was hit by a northbound 5 train, and was declared dead at the scene.

Police add that the man jumped in front of the train. Subway service was delayed on the 4/5/6 for about two hours afterwards.

On Thursday, a NYU food services employee jumped onto the tracks and saved a teenage girl who had blacked out and fallen at Union Square station.
