A man was fatally struck by a street sweeper in Brooklyn early this morning. According to police, the incident happened around 1 a.m. at the corner of Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues. The as-yet unidentified victim, who was in his 40s, was hit by a NYC sanitation street sweeper who was travelling northbound on Flatbush Avenue.

He suffered severe body trauma, and was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital. Police add that the operator of the street sweeper remained on scene, and there is no criminality suspected. The investigation is ongoing, and the victim will be identified pending family notification.
