A 24-year-old man was killed during a raging fire that also left more than a dozen injured in Flatbush early this morning.
According to an FDNY spokesperson, the blaze ignited on the second floor of a three story Flatbush Avenue apartment building around 12:38 a.m., requiring 106 firefighters and 20 trucks to eventually quash it around 1:55 a.m.

Fifteen victims were rushed to various area hospitals, though the unidentified 24-year-old could not be saved. The Daily News reports that a 70-year-old man remains in critical condition at Brookdale University Hospital, and a teenage boy and 50-year-old woman are in critical—but stable—condition as well. The other victims are in stable condition.
Neighbors told the tabloid they could only watch helplessly as the flames raged from the building's windows. "It was horrifying," said one woman watching from across the street.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
