Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that took place early this morning on a Manhattan sidewalk.

According to the NYPD, police officers responded to a 911 call about a 22-year-old man suffering from stab wounds at Metropolitan Hospital. The cops found that he "sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest and determined that the incident occurred at the intersection of Third Avenue and East 94 Street."

Someone apparently helped the victim get a cab to take him to the hospital, which is at First Avenue and 97th Street. The victim died at the hospital.
