Man Beaten In Hell's Kitchen By Group Yelling Anti-Gay Slurs

The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is searching for three men suspected of beating a 23-year-old men in Hell's Kitchen last Saturday after shouting anti-gay slurs at him.

According to the police, the unidentified victim walked past the group of three men as they were arguing on West 49th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues at 1:40 a.m. Saturday morning. At that time, one of the men stopped and shouted "What are you looking at, faggot?" and "Is there a problem, faggot?"

The three men then allegedly threw the victim to the ground and began kicking him repeatedly, breaking his wrist before fleeing west on 49th Street towards 10th avenue. Emergency medical service responders treated the victim for his injuries at the scene.

Surveillance video footage of two of the three suspected attackers, both approximately 20 years old, has been released by the NYPD. A police spokesperson confirmed the incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
