A man was struck and killed by a car as he attempted to cross the Bruckner Expressway early this morning. Police responded to a 911 call on the expressway in the vicinity of White Plains Road at around 5:20 a.m. and found that a 36-year-old man had been attempting to cross the expressway from the south end to the north, and was hit by an eastbound 1998 Toyota Camry. The man was transported to Jacobi Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver was also transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. No criminality is suspected, and the investigation is ongoing.

Early Saturday morning, two teenagers were struck by a hit-and-run driver nearby, on Bruckner Boulevard. The victims are in critical condition, and police are still searching for the driver, in what has been a dangerous few days for pedestrians and cyclists.
