A Brooklyn man was arrested for allegedly striking and killing an 88-year-old woman with his BMW and fleeing the scene. According to police, Isabel Rodriguez was hit in Brownsville at the intersection of Stone Avenue and Livonia Avenue at around 8:45 p.m. by a southbound vehicle, and was later pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. Witnesses gave a description of the BMW involved, and police found the car two blocks away with "damage consistent with the accident." 50-year-old Wayne Stokeling was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
