A suspect has been arrested in the shooting of the Queens honor student who was killed while riding the bus home from a Sweet 16 party.

Kevin McClinton, 21, was arrested in South Carolina after evading detectives for over two weeks after the May 18th shooting. He was arrested without incident by the NYPD’s Violent Felon Apprehension Team and U.S. Marshals at around 6 a.m. this morning.

The victim, Daja Robinson, was an honor student riding a bus in South Jamaica when McClinton allegedly fired at least nine shots from the street towards the bus. She was struck in the right temple and died. Police do not believe she was the intended target. A friend sobbed, "She was supposed to go to another Sweet 16 party with us, but she left because her best friend lost her money and wanted to go home. She’s dead because she got on the wrong bus at the wrong time."

Daja's family has been standing vigil at the bus station every day since her death.
