The NYPD has arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly slashing a Swedish tourist in the neck on the A train at Euclid Avenue during rush hour on Monday evening.

Don Carter of Cypress Hills has been charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and two counts of attempted murder, according to the NYPD. Carter has more than 50 prior arrests, NBC reports, including at least nine for possession of a blade.

Carter's victim was one Katrina Stanisz of Stockholm. She was reportedly headed to JFK airport with her father when she was attacked. Stanisz was moving to sit down after a flood of passengers got off the train at Euclid, and was slashed in the neck from behind.

Carter was arrested yesterday afternoon; police say he did not have a blade on his person when they took him into custody.
