It turns out that the MTA bus that crashed into a home in Jamaica, Queens on Saturday night was struck by a driver who was fleeing the police.
According to the Daily News, Chevon Parchment, 24, had been pulled over for not wearing a seat belt, but police say he tried to escape, speeding off and blowing through a read light.
Parchment's car hit the Q113 bus—which had tried to swerve away—and then the bus hit two parked cars, went through a fence and then into a house where the homeowner was celebrating his 74th birthday. Twelve people on the bus suffered minor injuries.
Cops found "64 bags of crack cocaine" in Parchment's car and charged him with drug possession, reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration.
