With New Year's Eve almost upon us, we thought we would take a look at the resolutions some of the local teams might make. Some have been naughty, some have been nice, but just like the rest of us, all of them head into 2009 with some issues to confront.

  • The New Jersey Nets resolve to give up on moving to Brooklyn and instead head to Newark.
  • The New York Knicks resolve to win some games in 2009, but not too many because they are going to need that lottery pick if they want to make their 2010 plans come true.
  • The New York Jets resolve to draft a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft and to avoid getting sucked into the Brett Favre drama this upcoming offseason.
  • The New York Giants resolve to never forget how good their running game is in the upcoming playoffs.
  • The New York Rangers resolve to figure out a way to get out of salary cap jail and add some scoring punch to their lineup.
  • The New York Islanders resolve to find more players like Kyle Okposo. That would bring hope back to the Coliseum.
  • The New Jersey Devils resolve to make one last playoff run with Martin Brodeur in net.
  • The New York Mets resolve to give their fans a September they want to remember.
  • And finally the New York Yankees resolve to leave some free agents for the rest of baseball to sign.

Happy New Year everyone!
