In the Christmas rush, a 2 year old almost lost his thumb on the Macy's escalator. The Post reports that little Michael Grateraux was riding to the fourth floor when his left thumb was partially severed. Yikes. He was taken to the hospital - no word on whether the finger was re-attached.
And there were no details on whether Grateraux was being held or walking around by himself - or which escalator he was on. Macy's has those rickety, wooden escalators that have pretty big gaps. Last year, a little girl's finger was sliced off when she ran up the escalator by herself and tripped.
