On October 9, a low-flying police helicopter roused residents of the Lower East Side along Rivington Street, looking for a suspect in a sexual assault. According to the Lo-Down the incident occurred around 7 a.m. near Rivington and Attorney Streets.

In surveillance video provided by the NYPD, the suspect is seen placing his hat on a car, and walking behind the victim. After assaulting her, he flees and is seen grabbing his hat.

Police describe the suspect as being betwee 5'6" and 5'8" tall, weighing around 160 pounds and being approximately 20-22 years old. Anyone with information regarding the incident should call Crime Stoppers (1-800-577-8477).
