Earlier this week it was reported that Courtney Love had lost custody of her and Kurt Cobain's 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean. Reportedly Frances Bean said she preferred to live with her grandmother, and custody was handed over to her, Wendy O'Connor, as well as Kurt's sister.
After word got out, Love took her troubles online, posting public Facebook rants (which have since been deleted), reading: "[Frances] thinks she has all this money, [but] the point is I have all the money she has... I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this shit has lost her position and friends in NYC they will pretend to like her, but I'll go teach at Bard before she gets in. " (Teaching sentence structure, no doubt.) A certain someone also quotes her as saying, "you realize this will put you in juvenile family circus three times in your little life? This is what, along with his mother, killed your father." Earlier today she updated her status, saying, in part: "she's my daughter and I love her."
Now TMZ reports that on top of losing legal control over her daughter, a judge has issued a restraining order, prohibiting Love from having any direct or indirect contact with Frances Bean. A hearing to make the restraining order permanent is set for January 5. Sigh, can't we just go back to the early '90s and make things better?
