A Long Island woman has been arrested and accused of stabbing her ex-husband to death this week, then dumping his body on the side of the Wantagh State Parkway. Nancy Boland, 56, allegedly got into the fight with ex-husband Walter Boland, 58, at their shared home Wednesday night—despite being divorced, the couple still lived together. Boland allegedly stabbed him in the abdomen, and police say he slowly bled to death over the next few hours: "We believe the victim never received medical attention and passed away sometime Thursday," said Lt. William Hulse.
Authorities are calling the incident a "domestic dispute," but didn't explain any further what prompted the stabbing. Police say Boland then took her dead ex-husband and placed him in a Toyota Camry at around midnight Thursday or early Friday—she drove around until she dropped him along the Wantagh State Parkway, just off a bike path. He was discovered around 8 a.m. Friday morning. They also said Boland disposed of a "sharp instrument" in her household trash.
Boland has been charged with first-degree manslaughter, evidence tampering and criminal possession of a weapon; in addition, she has two pending misdemeanor charges, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Her ex also has a criminal history, including convictions for drug possession, possession of stolen property and drunk driving.
